Last week, the Tour de France marked Tadej Pogacar's second grand tour win of the year, but he hasn't forgotten his Giro d'Italia victory either. In a touching gesture, he welcomed a child to whom he had given a water bottle during the penultimate stage of the Giro.
During stage 20 of the Giro on the Monte Grappa, Pogacar rode away from his competition solo. In the last few kilometers of the climb, he could take it relatively easy. The twelve-year-old Mattia saw his chance and enthusiastically ran alongside the pink jersey wearer for a bit. Pogacar appreciated this and handed his bottle to the Italian boy. A kind gesture which caught the world's attention.

The sponsors of UAE-Team Emirates also found this a beautiful moment and decided to offer Mattia a day behind the scenes with the team during the Tour de France, as a surprise for the Italian boy.
