Arkéa-B&B Hotels sets sights on stage wins in the Tour de France, but also has one asset for the general classification

Following many other teams, Arkéa-B&B Hotels has also presented its eight-member squad for the Tour de France, which starts on Saturday, June 29, in Florence. The team is clearly aiming for stage success across various terrains.

Veteran sprinter Arnaud Démare, likely supported by lead-out riders Luca Mozzato, Amaury Capiot, and Daniel McLay, is the team's designated sprint leader. Mozzato and Capiot should also make their mark in the transitional stages, while McLay could potentially serve as a backup sprinter if needed.

Démare has already won two Tour stages in his career (in 2017 and 2018) and hopes to add another victory after several less successful years and as the new face of his team.

In the more challenging stages, the red-colored team hopes for breakout performances from riders like Clement Champoussin, Kévin Vauquelin, and Cristian Rodriguez, all of whom have proven they can climb well.

According to the team's website, Champoussin seems to be focusing mainly on the early punchy stages, while Rodriguez, who finished thirteenth in last year's Vuelta, might still keep the overall standings in mind. The young Spaniard Raul Garcia Pierna, who, like Vauquelin, is making his Tour debut, appears to be set for a kind of wildcard role.
