Cyclocross schedule revealed for Mathieu van der Poel: World Champion to compete thirteen times in Cyclocross season

Through a post on Twitter Alpecin-Deceuninck has announced Mathieu van der Poel's cyclocross program. The five-time world champion will kick off his cyclocross season on December 22 at the Exact Cross in Mol. In total, MVDP, including the cyclocross World Championships in Tabor, will be competing in thirteen cyclocross races this winter.

Van der Poel's first cyclocross race of the year is still a little way off, but fans can look forward to seeing him in action quite frequently in a short period. The Christmas season, in particular, is packed with races for Van der Poel. Following Mol, he will compete successively in Antwerp (World Cup, Dec. 23), Gavere (World Cup, Dec. 26), Diegem (Superprestige, Dec. 28), Loenhout (Exact Cross, Dec. 29), and Hulst (World Cup, Dec. 30).

Will "Poeleke" take a break after that? No, as he will be at the start of the X2O Trophy in Baal on New Year's Day. Afterward, the superstar will also participate in races in Koksijde (X2O Trophy, Jan. 4), Zonhoven (World Cup, Jan. 7), Benidorm (World Cup, Jan. 21), Hamme (X2O Trophy, Jan. 27), Hoogerheide (World Cup, Jan. 28), and Tabor (World Cup, Feb. 4).
