Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale launches new kit in March: "The pattern represents cosmic movements"

The season has only just begun, yet that hasn't stopped Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale from significantly altering their cycling kit. Main sponsor Decathlon has made a change to its logo, and as a result, we now see the riders of the French WorldTour team in different, new uniforms.

The spectacular new jersey was unveiled in a video on X. The previous kit used a kind of light blue shade, but we now mainly see dark blue patterns appearing on the clothing, which will be titled Galaxy. And this name doesn't come out of nowhere, as a kind of galaxy pattern is discernible.

"The historical blue of the AG2R La Mondiale Group, the title sponsor of the team for 26 years, is featured on the right sleeve," states a press release sent to the cycling press. "The left sleeve displays the green color of Decathlon's new identity, focused on innovation. The center of the jersey combines the new Decathlon blue with that of AG2R La Mondiale. This pattern represents cosmic movements and evokes the fusion of the two partners, thus creating a new entity: the Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale Team. This also illustrates the team's dynamism and its constant quest to push boundaries."

"The riders are the embodiment of energy and speed in the cycling world," the press release also notes. The Galaxy jersey is designed with utmost precision and advanced technology. The jersey stands out for its uniqueness, ensuring it is highly visible in the peloton. In short: designed to attract attention and arouse admiration, it embodies boldness, originality and change." The jersey will be seen in the peloton for the first time on March 14th, when the team participates in the Grand Prix de Denain.
