Isaac del Toro is no longer the leader in the Tour Down Under. The Mexican of UAE-Team Emirates hung on for much of the stage to the top of Willunga Hill, but eventually lost eight seconds to the trio of Oscar Onley, Stephen Williams and Jhonatan Narváez. Williams is the new leader. "I feel tired, but it's okay. I did my best and I'm happy with that," Del Toro said in a brief flash interview after the race. "On Sunday, I'll take it easy, and then I'll try again. I see this as a big learning experience, as this is still only my first WorldTour race," highlights the winner of stage two.
"I'm very satisfied. It might just be the beginning, but I still want to have fun," says Del Toro, who now stands fourth in the general classification and can still make a bid for the final ranking in Sunday's stage to Mount Lofty.
Del Toro is five seconds behind Williams and Onley.
