Küng wins Chrono des Nations; Brown takes final bow with dominant victory in women's race

Stefan Küng claimed victory in the men's Chrono des Nations. The Swiss rider (Groupama-FDJ) narrowly beat Jay Vine (UAE Team Emirates) and Johan Price-Pejtersen (Bahrain-Victorious). In the women's race, Grace Brown took the win. The world champion marked her farewell to professional cycling with this victory, as France hosted her final race.

The men's race was thrilling from start to finish. Price-Pejtersen (Bahrain-Victorious) was the first to set a really strong time. The Dane held the lead for a while, but along the way, a number of other men were faster. Mikkel Bjerg (UAE Team Emirates) recorded the fastest time at the first checkpoint, but he faded. Alec Segaert (Lotto Dstny), Vine and Küng were also faster at the first checkpoint. At the second checkpoint, the Swiss rider was the fastest, with a slight lead over Vine and Price-Pejtersen. He held onto that lead until the finish, though just barely: the Australian was four seconds slower, which was just over a second faster than the surprising Dane.
