Lefevere scouted excellently with winner Magnier and lead-out Lamperti: "No idea what type of rider I am"

Soudal-Quick Step has made some excellent acquisitions, that much is evident. The Wolfpack entered the Trofeo Ses Salines on Thursday with a relatively unknown group filled with young talents and concluded the day with Paul Magnier and Luke Lamperti claiming the first and third positions.

Lamperti ultimately served as the last man standing for Magnier, who won the anticipated bunch sprint with a significant lead over Tudor's Alberto Dainese. "It feels fantastic to secure a victory in my debut for this incredible team," Magnier rejoiced afterward in the team's press release. "There are so many exceptional riders, and I already feel at home here. I need to find the right words to express how I feel after this win."

"At nineteen, I have no idea what type of rider I am, so winning here is incredible for me. I couldn't have dreamed of this. My teammates performed exceptionally well today. In the last 20 kilometers, we always stuck together and maintained a favorable position on those long straight roads. Gianni (Moscon, ed.) and Yves (Lampaert, ed.) then took charge, controlling the peloton effortlessly. Luke, being very fast himself, guided me through the finale. We had a plan, and we executed it."

Lamperti also concurs, putting in such a strong lead-out that he secured the third position. "We aimed to make a strong impression here with the young guys. Winning with Paul and securing third place, all on our first race day with the team, is fantastic. It was a challenging sprint after a fast day, so everyone was still fresh. Lampaert and Moscon led us to the last traffic circle, and from there, I could carry the momentum to the final corner. A perfect sprint, you could say."
