For Mathieu van der Poel, April is all about his two major spring goals: the Tour of Flanders and Paris-Roubaix. But in March, he already managed to add to his already impressive list of victories, including Le Samyn, Milan-Sanremo, and the E3 Saxo Classic. On Instagram, the Dutch rider captured his month of March in a selection of photos and videos.

It goes without saying that the bicycle is prominent in the series of images posted by the Dutch rider, who also rode Tirreno-Adriatico in March and covered many kilometers on gravel in Belgium.

There is also time to relax, as photos with his girlfriend Roxanne, videos on the golf course, and images with the dogs during a coffee break show.

After winning the E3 Saxo Classic last Friday, Van der Poel stayed in Belgium because of good weather conditions. "By skipping Gent-Wevelgem, we think we can achieve the best result. Especially after the weather conditions in Tirreno-Adriatico, Milan-Sanremo, and now here. Staying healthy is the challenge now, but that will be the case for everyone coming from Tirreno-Adriatico, Paris-Nice, and Milan-Sanremo."

He is also skipping Dwars door Vlaanderen, to be at his best in the Tour of Flanders on Sunday. "Everyone understands that Flanders and Roubaix are the most important races, but I can say that it has certainly been a success so far. That gives me confidence, but next week, we start over again," he said after the E3.
