Pogacar and Pidcock in the running for major sports award

March 3 - Tadej Pogacar and Tom Pidcock have been nominated for one of the prestigious Laureus World Sports Awards. During the 25th anniversary, Pogacar competes for the Sportsman of the Year award. Pidcock is nominated for the so-called 'World Action Sports Person of the Year,' thanks to his famous last-minute catch-up move that made him Olympic mountain bike champion last summer.

Pogacar owes his nomination to the best year of his career, which included victories in the Giro d'Italia and the Tour de France, the world title, and two monuments with Liège-Bastogne-Liège and the Tour of Lombardy. The Slovenian is only the fifth cyclist nominated for this award, after Lance Armstrong, Alberto Contador, Bradley Wiggins, and Chris Froome.
