The Flemish cycling week has now begun, which means that many are already focused on the main event on Sunday. First, there is an appetizer on Wednesday with Dwars door Vlaanderen, although this race has also gained popularity recently. IDLProCycling.com lists the participants for the upcoming edition.
We don't usually see Tadej Pogacar (UAE Emirates-XRG), Filippo Ganna (INEOS Grenadiers) and Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin-Deceuninck) in action between Roeselare and Waregem, but with Mads Pedersen and his strong Lidl-Trek team and the Visma | Lease a Bike core around Wout van Aert, there are still some big names at the start.
Defending champion Matteo Jorgenson will also be present, as will Biniam Girmay (Intermarché-Wanty), Jasper Philipsen (Alpecin-Deceuninck), and Soudal Quick-Step pawn Tim Merlier. Van Aert, Girmay, Pedersen, and also Jasper Stuyven, all the victims of last year's big crash, will be present.

In the women's race, there are slightly more big names at the start than on Sunday in Gent-Wevelgem. For example, Marianne Vos (Visma | Lease a Bike) and Puck Pieterse (Fenix-Deceuninck) are back, as is SD Worx-Protime rider Anna van der Breggen. Lotte Kopecky is also participating.
