Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe has announced an exciting transfer. The German team revealed on Friday the addition of Giulio Pellizzari. The 20-year-old Italian joins from Bardiani, where he made a strong impression in the recent Giro d'Italia. "Second in a mountain stage at the Giro, second in the fight for the mountain jersey, third in the Tour of Slovenia, and top ten finishes in the Tour of the Alps and the Tour of Austria," lists Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe, highlighting Pellizzari's impressive performances from 2024. It was only the young Italian's third season at the professional level, having debuted with Bardiani in 2022. His second place in the prestigious U23 race Tour de l'Avenir in 2023 underscored his (climbing) talent.
In the Giro d'Italia, Pellizzari made his Grand Tour debut in May, and what a debut it was! After going on the attack on the very first day, it was a matter of waiting for the high mountains for the lightweight rider. On days fifteen, sixteen, seventeen, and twenty, he showcased his climbing prowess by making it into the breakaways. In stage 16, he appeared to be on his way to a stage win until Tadej Pogačar caught him near the finish. Afterward, the
Slovenian gifted Pellizzari his shirt and glasses, with the young rider having previously had a photo taken with Pogačar as a young prospect.

Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe is focusing on talent development
A move to the WorldTour was only a matter of time, and Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe proved to be the most decisive. "I am very happy to be part of
this project. I can't wait to start with my new team and achieve great goals together," said Pellizzari.
Team manager Ralph Denk emphasizes that the team, with the arrival of Red Bull, will not only bring in big names. "Recognizing and developing talent is central to our vision, and our transfers for 2025 will demonstrate that. Giulio has already shown his climbing potential in major races, and we want to build on that to take the next step in his development."
