The upcoming Tour de France, which kicks off on Saturday, June 29 in Florence, can rightfully be called a race of super champions. It is the first time ever (!) that we will see The Big Six competing in the same race. And we haven't even mentioned riders like Tom Pidcock and Jasper Philipsen yet...
It is, of course, about Mathieu van der Poel, Wout van Aert, Jonas Vingegaard, Tadej Pogacar, Remco Evenepoel, and Primoz Roglic. Six top-class riders, all present in the world's greatest cycling race. A better place for their first collective appearance seemed almost unimaginable.

The Big Six in Tour de France seemed unthinkable for a long time

The riders have already fought many battles against each other, often resulting in one-on-one duels: Van der Poel versus Van Aert, Vingegaard versus Pogacar, and Evenepoel versus Roglic.
For a long time, it did not seem likely that we would see the six greatest cyclists on this planet racing together for the first time in La Grande Boucle. This was, of course, due to the many injuries (to Vingegaard, Van Aert, Roglic, and Evenepoel). Ultimately, everything fell into place, and as cycling fans, we can prepare for a unique event, regardless of what happens in the race itself!

For the first time ever, the BIG 6 (Pogačar, Vingegaard, Roglič, Evenepoel, Van der Poel, Van Aert) will be at the startline of the same race (Tour de France). 😍 Not all riders had ideal preparation for this race, but feel lucky to witness these times. ❤️

The Big SIX 6⃣ (Pogacar, Roglic, Vingegaard, Remco, WvA, MvdP) have NEVER started in the SAME race. In 2024 it could happen for the 1st (and only) time, in (probably) the world championships in Zürich. (Olympic road race also a possibility, but JV in Danish selection?)
