On day 1 of the Tour of the Basque Country, the time trial kicked off in the basketball arena of Vitoria-Gasteiz. The day before, during the team presentation, riders were handed a few basketballs and invited to take a shot. João Almeida, Igor Arrieta, Vegard Stake Laengen, Isaac Del Toro, Felix Grossschartner, Brandon McNulty, and Marc Soler all gave it their best effort—but let’s just say the NBA won’t be calling anytime soon.
