Vingegaard becomes father for second time, son in good health

Danish TV2 reports that Jonas Vingegaard has become a father for the second time. The wife of the two-time Tour winner, Trine Marie Vingegaard Hansen, has given birth to a baby boy. It's a nice ending to an eventful 2024 cycling year for the Dane.

Grandmother Rosa Kildahl told the Danish press, "Things are going well for the parents, children, and grandparents alike." Vingegaard and his wife were surprised to learn that it was a son. Indeed, they did not know until the day of delivery whether it would be a boy or a girl.

2024 was quite an eventful year for Vingegaard. The Dane employed by Visma | Lease a Bike fell hard in April and then had to undergo long rehabilitation. Despite the problematic preparation, the Dane finished second in the Tour de France. After the Tour, the 27-year-old Visma rider took the overall victory in the Tour of Poland, after which it became clear that he would not race again this calendar year to spend time with his family and friends after an eventful year.
