Daniel Benson reports that Tom Pidcock can transfer to another team next winter. The usually well-informed cycling journalist writes on his official website that Pidcock could make a transfer away from INEOS Grenadiers despite an ongoing contract until the end of 2027. On Monday, the 24-year-old Briton became
Olympic mountain bike champion for the second time. He did the same three years ago in Tokyo, motivated by the unconditional support of INEOS to combine mountain biking with cyclocross and road. He also became the world champion in cyclocross in 2022, and on the road, he has already won a Tour stage on the Alpe d'Huez (2022), Strade Bianche (2023), and the Amstel Gold Race (2024), among others.
"INEOS has always supported me in every discipline," Pidcock said in early 2022 for good reason when it was announced that he was extending his expiring contract until the end of 2027. Yet, Benson reports that teams interested in Pidcock may apply to the multi-million-dollar British formation these months. "Two World teams have confirmed that a transfer is imminent for Pidcock,' it reads. 'He could appear on the transfer market within weeks, now that there is room for negotiation."

Pidcock to Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe after all?
Benson says he is basing his decision on a phone call and text message from two WorldTour teams, both of which indicate that Pidcock may be leaving. "There are multiple teams interested," he also says. Red Bull-BORA-Hansgrohe was already mentioned earlier this year as interested in Pidcock, especially now that Red Bull has sponsored the German team. The brand has sponsored the British athlete for years, but they have always pointed to Pidcock's ongoing contract at the German formation.
Will undoubtedly be continued!
