Remco Evenepoel has been off the radar for a while, but the Belgian from Soudal-Quick Step is about to return. In a post from The Wolfpack about the team program for April, Evenepoel already convincingly captioned his Instagram story 'Comeback month,' which is now confirmed by a message from Switzerland.

Evenepoel spent the past few months working hard on his recovery after a hard crash during a training session in December. The 25-year-old rider crashed into the door of a van and broke several bones, not for the first time in his career. His shoulder was particularly problematic, causing a difficult nerve compression.

Racing was out of the question in the first months of 2025. The team quickly shifted its focus to April, when Evenepoel wants to race in the Ardennes classics. He is still scheduled to participate in Brabantse Pijl on April 18, followed by the Amstel Gold Race, Flèche Wallonne, and Liège-Bastogne-Liège. This would get his preparations for the Tour de France back on track.

Tour de Romandie shows off Evenepoel

The Critérium du Dauphiné is on his program as a preparation race for the Tour, but Evenepoel will also complete a stage race after four one-day races. The Tour de Romandie is showing off Remco Evenepoel's arrival through the official channels. The Swiss race is a WorldTour race of considerable stature but has always been the little brother of the Tour of Switzerland, so this is a nice boost for the organization.

The Tour of Romandy starts this year on April 29 and ends on May 4. Evenepoel will face a prologue, four hill climbs, and a mountain stage in six days. This is undoubtedly a good test for the system after he only completed one-day races in the Ardennes on his return. "The double Olympic champion of Paris 2024 (time trial and road race, ed.) will be there in Romandy. The full set will be announced at a press conference on April 23," the statement said.
