Fit as ever! Dumoulin wins the St. Pietersbear Trail by supremacy

After his career as a cyclist, we know Tom Dumoulin mainly as an analyst. At NOS, the Maastricht native can often be seen and heard around cycling races. Yet Dumoulin has not entirely left his sporting talent behind him, as he revealed on his Instagram page this week.

We saw Dumoulin proudly standing on the top of the podium. The former Giro d'Italia winner won the St. Pietersbear Trail, a tough running race in the countryside. Dumoulin entered the 26-kilometer race, which he won convincingly with a time of 1 hour, 44 minutes, and 7 seconds. Number two, Rik Heijnen, followed closely behind at under eight minutes.

In November 2023, we saw Dumoulin training with Olympic medalist Sifan Hassan. "I have found my new training buddy!" announced Hassan. Not long before, the 2018 Tour de France runner-up had run a half marathon in a smashing time of just over an hour. Only 10 days after that achievement, he then showed up on Instagram. "Only now able to run again," he announced, laughing. Hopefully, that won't be too bad this time, Tom!
