Vingegaard brings gift on maternity visit to dad and master mechanic Van Aert: "Crazy roller coaster of emotions"

"And that's two," he begins his message. "The past week has been a crazy roller coaster of emotions. Being at home in good health with my wife and two sons," said the Jumbo-Visma rider, who welcomed son Jerome last week.

"I witnessed my friends finishing the job," he alluded to teammate Jonas Vingegaard's Tour victory. Van Aert was the only Jumbo-Visma rider not to complete the Tour, but the remaining riders made sure his jersey number 6 was represented everywhere. "That was a significant highlight," Van Aert said.

The Belgian also resumed his training rides after the birth of his second son. He is now setting his sights on the World Cycling Championships in Glasgow, scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 6. However, there was also some time on Monday for him to welcome Tour winner Vingegaard in Herentals. The Dane presented his Belgian teammate with a mini yellow jersey for little Jerome.
