Puck Pieterse is finally returning. The reigning Fenix-Deceuninck mountain bike world champion is preparing for an exciting cyclo-cross winter. She will participate in thirteen cyclo-cross races this season. Her comeback is scheduled for December 15, during the Namur World Cup. Please be patient, but the countdown has begun! All winter efforts are focused on one ultimate goal: the cyclo-cross World Championships on February 1 in Liévin.

Pieterse is an all-rounder, so it took her a while to show up in the cyclo-cross. Getting some rest was necessary because the Dutch rider was perhaps the revelation of the past cycling season among women. She finished in the top thirteen in every one-day race she rode on the road this year. She also showed herself in the Tour de France Femmes, which resulted in a stage win, white jersey, and eleventh overall. She also became world champion on the road in the U23 category. She also won the world cross-country mountain biking title. In short, it was a top season and definitive breakthrough for the only 22-year-old from Amersfoort in the Netherlands.

A fully loaded cyclo-cross season for Pieterse

After the busy season, she took a short break, but the next month, she returned for thirteen cyclo-cross races in seven weeks. Five are already scheduled for December, marking a dazzling end to 2024 for Pieterse. The Benidorm, Maasmechelen, and Hoogerheide World Cups at the end of January are the lead-up to the World Championships, and that is where the rewards should be gathered. Pieterse will, of course, also be at the start of the Dutch National Championships.

The calendar for the cyclo-cross season is now online! Check it out here. Or check out our general calendars for the remainder of the season for the men and women's races.
