Rui Costa

Rui Alberto Faria da Costa, born on 5 October 1986 in Aguçadoura, currently competes for UCI WorldTeam EF Education–EasyPost. His remarkable achievements include clinching the 2013 UCI Road World Championships in Tuscany, Italy, making history as the first Portuguese cyclist to secure this title. He also secured wins in three stages of the Tour de France across 2011 and 2013, a stage win in the Vuelta a España in 2023, and consecutive victories in the Tour de Suisse in 2012, 2013 and 2014, becoming the first cyclist to win the stage race in three consecutive years.

In a stellar 2023 season, Rui Costa not only celebrated a victory in stage 15 of the Vuelta a España but also clinched the title at the Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana, rounding off the year with a win at the Japan Cup. He also had commendable performances in La Drôme Classic (2nd), Strade Bianche and Figueira Champions Classic (4th) and Gran Piemonte (5th).
