Tobias Halland Johannessen, born on August 23, 1999, is a Norwegian road cyclist for the UCI ProTeam Uno-X Mobility. Transitioning from mountain biking and cyclo-cross alongside his twin brother Anders, Tobias has primarily focused on road racing. His 2020 season was significantly affected by knee injuries, but he made a notable return by representing Norway at the 2020 Summer Olympics in the road race event.
Johannessen's early cycling endeavors began as a commute to school, initially engaging in cyclo-cross and mountain biking before shifting his focus to road racing with Uno-X in 2021. His notable achievements include a second-place finish in the General Classification at the Giro Ciclistico d'Italia in June 2021, and winning the Tour de l'Avenir in August 2021, claiming victory by a margin of seven seconds over Carlos Rodríguez.
In 2022, Johannessen showcased his talent at the Tour of Norway, leading the race after the second stage and finishing fourth overall while securing the Points classification. In the Critérium du Dauphiné he won the Young Rider Classification and finished 10th in the general classification.
In 2023, Johannessen won Stage 5 of the Tour de Luxembourg, placed second in the Tour of Britain and the Giro del Veneto, and secured top finishes in Paris–Tours, the Arctic Race of Norway, and the Circuit Franco-Belge. He also competed in and finished the Tour de France.
