The route for the 2025 Tour de France Femmes has been revealed. Following the thrilling 2024 edition, next year’s race promises a worthy sequel: the first stages will be challenging in the hilly region of Brittany, followed by decisive climbing stages in the Massif Central and the Alps. Remarkably, the 2025 edition does not include a time trial.

While the men’s race will start in Lille, it had already been announced that Le Grand Départ for the women would take place in Brittany. Vannes hosts the first stage, ending in Plumelec. This challenging stage features several hills, with the finish atop the Côte de Cadoudal. The second stage is a classic from Brest to Quimper, dotted with punchy climbs that will add excitement to the course. The finish is tough again. Peter Sagan won here in 2018. In the third stage, the women start in La Gacilly, leaving Brittany behind as they finish in Angers — a stage tailored for the pure sprinters.

The route continues southeast, moving deeper into central France. The fourth stage, from Saumur to Poitiers, offers another opportunity for the fast riders. Following that, the race intensifies on the stage to Guéret with climbs in the Massif Central. The sixth stage is also grueling, with the Col du Béal en route from Clermont-Ferrand to Ambert, promising a tough challenge. Stage seven starts flat off in Bourg-en-Bresse, but the finale in Chambéry includes the Col du Granier, followed by a descent into the ski resort.

The final weekend kicks off with the first true mountain-top finish. Starting from Chambéry, riders face the Queen Stage: 3,500 meters of elevation gain, with the finish waiting on top of the legendary Col de la Madeleine. But the race isn't over yet. The last stage starts in Saint-François Longchamp and takes on the arduous Col du Joux Plane and Col du Corbier. The finish is in Châtel Les Portes du Soleil, where Bob Jungels won a stage in 2022. This unpredictable final stage ensures plenty of potential for a nail-biting finale.
