If you say Strade Bianche, you know there will be two days of racing in Italy immediately afterward. Tirreno-Adriatico, one of the most prestigious stage races of the year, starts on Monday, March 10, and the starting list is - unlike in recent years - once again incredibly impressive. IDLProCycling.com will keep track of the contenders for you.

The Tirreno-Adriatico is celebrating its 60th edition, a significant anniversary. Traditionally, we start on Monday in Lido di Camaiore with a short time trial. Seven days later, we will end—according to tradition—with a bunch sprint in San Benedetto del Tronto. There is something for everyone in the days in between, from an uphill finish to difficult finishes for the classics specialists who want to test their legs here.

Who will be there? Not defending champion Jonas Vingegaard, he is choosing Paris-Nice on behalf of Visma | Lease a Bike. The Dutch team will be sending Simon Yates and Olav Kooij to Italy. Mathieu van der Poel is also a big crowd-puller with Alpecin-Deceuninck. Without Vingegaard, the Dutch rider can start with number 1. He does not have Jasper Philipsen with him so that Van der Poel can enjoy himself for seven days.

Other big names will also be present, from sprinters Jonathan Milan (Lidl-Trek), Paul Magnier (Soudal-Quick Step), Casper van Uden (Picnic-PostNL) and Dylan Groenewegen (Jayco-AlUla) to GC contenders such as Juan Ayuso, Adam Yates (UAE Team Emirates-XRG), Richard Carapaz (EF Education-EasyPost), Marc Hirschi (Tudor), Tom Pidcock (Q36.5), Jai Hindley (Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe), Antonio Tiberi (Bahrain Victorious), David Gaudu (Groupama-FDJ) and Giulio Ciccone (Lidl-Trek).

What is remarkable is that many riders who chose to participate in the Giro d'Italia in May are also present now. UAE Team Emirates-XRG, Visma | Lease a Bike, and Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe are already using the seven-day event in Italy to test out their intended Giro leaders. Thus, we are getting a nice preview of what to expect in the first Grand Tour of the year.
