Tadej Pogacar is back from his vacation in the Seychelles. Pogacar, who was an exceptionally successful cyclist in 2024, attended a gala event on Monday in Slovenia, celebrating the 75th anniversary of his first cycling club, KD Rog, where he – sporting a striking new haircut – also joined a press conference for the Slovenian media. During the event, he was also asked for his opinion on the proposed
Tour de France route for 2025, which features some of the toughest climbs from his past. "Every year, there is speculation about who the course is designed for and who it suits best," reports
Siol.net. "But I just see it as a 21-day grand tour, just like all the other grand tours."
"I don't overthink the route, but I do enjoy being able to see the climbs we’ll be tackling in advance," said the Slovenian. "The style of the race is more or less the same every year. Maybe they do want to challenge us by including the Col de la Loze, Mont Ventoux and Hautacam, but that’s just adding fuel to the fire."

Pogacar wants to make Milan-San Remo a major goal
Pogacar has not yet officially announced his 2025 program, but he does seem keen on attempting a grand tour double again. "After this season, we can say that two grand tours in one season is definitely an option, so I think I can keep doing it that way for a few more years," the Slovenian cycling star revealed. "But we won’t decide until December, so there’s not much more I can say about it now."
"My challenges are definitely in the races I haven’t won yet, like
Milan-San Remo. I really want to win that race, so it will be a major goal in the first part of the season," said Pogacar. "And of course, the Tour is a goal every year. That’s a story that never ends. And I want to defend my rainbow jersey," he added, giving a hint about his plans.
