Tom Pidcock and Ineos Grenadiers have parted ways by mutual consent, cycling journalist Daniel Benson reports. INEOS Grenadiers is expected to issue a press release later today.

With his contract dissolved, Pidcock is immediately available to other teams. However, his future seems settled; all indications are that the British rider will sign up for Q36.5 Pro Cycling in the coming days.

"We understand that the Ineos management and Pidcock came to an amicable agreement to terminate his contract by mutual consent. Riders and staff have been made aware of the news today," Benson wrote.

Pidcock had a contract with Ineos Grenadiers until the end of 2027 but the relationship between him and the team have broken down in the last 12 months with several incidents taking place. For example, team manager Steve Cummings was recently forced out by Pidcock. Now, however, he seems to be leaving as well.

The last major conflict between the British star and INEOS occurred when the team unexpectedly left him at home for Il Lombardia. At the time, everything seemed to indicate that the super descender was preparing to leave. The air seemed somewhat cleared again when Pidcock attended a team day in Manchester.

Still, Pidcock remained critical and secretive about the situation after that. Doubts arose when he did not attend the team camp in Denia, Spain. Now, it seems the rider and team are actually parting ways.

And there is the official confirmation: Tom Pidcock will leave INEOS Grenadiers. "INEOS Grenadiers has today announced that Tom Pidcock will leave the team at the end of this season," the team said in a press release. CEO John Allert commented on the departure of the British star. "We're really proud of the work we've done with Tom to help him achieve some extraordinary and memorable moments. Together we've written a powerful chapter and shown how exciting and diverse professional cycling can be."

The decision is mutual, according to the British rider. "Tom has some big multi-disciplinary goals and we believe this decision enables both of us to pursue our future ambitions with clarity, purpose and determination. We thank Tom for the last four years and wish him the best of luck for the future."
