The Tour de Romandie was won last year by Carlos Rodríguez of INEOS Grenadiers, ahead of
Aleksandr Vlasov and Florian Lipowitz from Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe. Ilan Van Wilder (Soudal Quick-Step), Juan Ayuso (UAE), Enric Mas (Movistar), and Richard Carapaz (EF) also showed strong form. Of that group, only Lipowitz went on to race the Giro, with the others using Romandie as a key tune-up for the Tour de France.
That will likely be the case again in 2025. INEOS title defender Rodríguez returns, and as already confirmed, he will be challenged by Quick-Step leader Remco Evenepoel. UAE Team Emirates-XRG will counter with two big cards in João Almeida and
Jan Christen, while Jay Vine lines up as a wildcard. Vlasov will again carry the flag for Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe.
At Visma | Lease a Bike, sprint sensation Matthew Brennan is set to race, but surprisingly Cian Uijtdebroeks is missing from the lineup. The Belgian recently raced three one-day events in France but will skip what was expected to be a key test at
Romandie. Bahrain Victorious will pin its hopes on Lenny Martinez, Groupama-FDJ lines up with David Gaudu, Picnic-PostNL backs Oscar Onley, and Lotto counts on Lennert Van Eetvelt.
