UAE Team Emirates leaves no stone unturned: super squad around Pogacar should bring success in Italy

Tadej Pogacar will reveal his rainbow jersey for the first time. UAE Team Emirates announced in a press release Thursday morning the selection for the first Italian autumn race, the Giro dell'Emilia. There, Pogacar will begin his preparation for the Tour of Lombardy, his last major goal of the season.

UAE's selection for the Tour of Emilia is especially strong anyway. Juan Ayuso, Adam Yates, and Jay Vine will also be present. Thus, not only Pogacar but also the team as a whole is going up for another hunt. On Wednesday, the incredibly successful team from the Emirates already recorded the 76th win. Italy looks for excellent territory to extend the series even further in the coming weeks.

Pogacar full of panache towards end of unique cycling year

Pogacar himself is excited. The Slovenian is having a super season, and the rest of the world has noticed. Just about everywhere he is at the start, he shows his skills to the rest of the peloton in an impressive way. "This time of year is always one of my favorites to race, and it will be even more special now with the World Championship shirt on." It will be the first race for Pogacar in the rainbow jersey.

"What happened in Zurich was like a dream for me," the all-rounder continued. "Whatever happens from now on is a plus, but given the great season we've had as a team, we want to push through to the last race and finish on a high. These year-end classics in Italy are wonderful, exciting races, and we are ready to give them a chance." Sjoerd Bax is also competing in Emilia as a Dutchman.
