Visma | Lease a Bike lost the lead in the GC of the Tour of Oman. Olav Kooij could not keep up in the problematic finale, but Cian Uijtdebroeks did what he could and nicely secured a place in the top twenty. In the UAE Tour Women, the Dutch formation closed the race with sixth place in the final stage.

Uijtdebroeks saw his team pilot him through the stage perfectly. Road captain Steven Kruijswijk did his job accordingly, but neopros and rookies Niklas Behrens and Pietro Mattio also showed themselves as skilled domestiques. "I'm satisfied with my form," the Belgian leader said on the team's website. "The guys rode an excellent race. Steven (Kruijswijk), Pietro, and Niklas showed their value again, just like yesterday. I'm looking forward to the rest of this tour. I hope I can compete for a strong position in the overall classification."

The Tour of Oman can't be better for Visma | Lease a Bike, but the UAE Tour Women may not have turned out quite as the team had hoped. Ultimately, the Killer Bees are without a stage win and seventeenth place in the GC with leading lady Pauline Ferrand-Prévot. A positive note was the sprint success behind the unbeatable Lorena Wiebes, where in the final stage, Martina Fidanza did well with sixth place. "It was a really fast finale today," the 25-year-old sprinter said afterward.

"Perhaps we hit the front a little too early"

'We did a great job in the final kilometers, but perhaps we hit the front a little too early. At that moment, I decided to give everything I had left. The sprint played out a bit unusual due to the strong headwind." A sixth place was the highest possible as a result, but the Italian was very positive about the team play. "The girls did an excellent job and helped me tremendously in securing my first top-10 finish in a WorldTour race wearing the Team Visma | Lease a Bike jersey. I'm more than grateful to them for that."
