The second edition of the Turbo Cross in Diegem was won by the duo Puck Moonen and Bas Tietema, who proved to be the best on the Superprestige course. The playful cyclo-cross, which included influencers, YouTubers, Tour de Tietema, and other celebrities, was packed with funny footage, entertainment, obstructions, crashes, and chaos. With the Olympic mindset, participating is more important than winning; we must not take things so seriously.

The Turbo Cross, which took place between the women's and men's cross, was introduced last year by YouTuber Average Rob. Because of its relay format, this year's format was slightly different. The second edition saw an even bigger turnout of familiar faces: (former) cyclists such as Bas Tietema, Puck Moonen, Lawrence Naesen, Bert De Backer, and Suzanne Verhoeven, as well as popular YouTubers such as Enzo Knol and ACID.

Tietema completes work by Moonen

The participants competed not only for the win but also for the fun and laughter this cross brought. The participants and the public particularly well-liked the new concept, and the race had many supporting roles: funny crashes, playful actions, and other entertainment.

The female participants opened the race, and it was soon clear who the leaders in the battle were. Moonen made a strong start, but former cyclo-cross rider Suzanne Verhoeven reached the switch zone first. Moonen, however, was still in her wake, leaving everything possible for Tietema.

Consequently, he snatched the initiative as soon as he entered the course. He immediately took the lead and was far faster than the rest. He won the second edition of the Turbo Cross with Puck Moonen.

Samuel De Graef and Lore Bruggeman also performed well and finished as runner-ups. Josse Wester and Senne Knaven completed the podium in third place.

Moonen was happy with her victory

A wonderful victory

Afterward, Tietema and Moonen commented on their victory. "You do dream about it a bit. After all, it is the most beautiful race of the year," said the sarcastic Moonen in the flash interview. "There were a lot of cyclo-cross riders at the start. They were racing fast. I can't keep up with that technically, but we just did it," she responded more seriously afterward.

For Tietema, it was the perfect course. "It was a short effort, which fits my current training schedule better." He, too, responded afterward with a more serious look. "This is now the second edition when you see what a party it is, while it is a snack. Phenomenal. The people who come to this may not go to cyclo-cross every weekend. But it's a great night for these people."
