For
Lars van der Haar, the Jaarmarktcross in Niel was an opportunity to revisit the course where he had an unfortunate moment last year. The Dutchman dislocated his shoulder in the 2023 edition, after which
he managed to put it back in place himself. One year later, he was even more dissatisfied with the course south of Antwerp (Belgium).
Even before the start, Van der Haar shared his criticism with the interviewers present. "I don't really like the lap; only the sandbox is fun. It gets worse here every year," said the Dutch rider of Baloise Trek Lions about the course in Niel.
"You have to get off the bike here all the time," said Van der Haar, who didn't want to say much more. "But anyway, I don't have to complain, just ride." Team boss Sven Nys watched with a smile. "Those are the Dutch, straight to the point. You have to love it."
By the way, Van der Haar didn't do too badly in this edition in Niel. He finished fifth and is now second in the Superprestige ranking.
