Paris-Nice is one of the most famous stage races in France. The race has been on the calendar since 1933 and serves as an ideal spring preparation for the general classification riders for the Grand Tours. In de Leiderstrui has compiled some information and interesting facts about Paris-Nice!
In 2024, the race starts on Sunday, March 3, and traditionally ends a week later in Nice. Although the race is called Paris-Nice, the start has actually been outside the French capital for many years. This year, the race begins in Les Mureaux, just outside Paris and finishes there as well. The course was announced at the end of December. This year, it's a relatively unusual course because it includes a stage full of steep climbs. Additionally, there is a long team time trial and two challenging mountain top finishes. At the same time, Paris-Nice retains its traditional character, with some tricky transitional stages and the final stage in Nice in the south of France.
