Anything seems possible in America, so why not a one-on-one cycling duel between Lance Armstrong and boxer-turned-influencer Jake Paul? The two have been challenging each other on social media for all the world to see. Could this actually lead to a race?
It all started with a video created by Dutch speed skater Jutta Leerdam, Paul’s girlfriend, while they were in Abu Dhabi. The video shows Paul — riding a Colnago — and Leerdam cycling together in the United Arab Emirates. In the clip, Paul yells out: "Lance Armstrong, I am coming." He captioned the video with: "@lancearmstrong 1 v1 me."
The former cyclist from Texas wasted no time responding, clearly irked. "Child, please. You’ve been looking for an a** whoopin’. You found your place," Armstrong said. That, of course, prompted another response from Paul. "Can someone tell him how many old guys I’ve already beaten?" he quipped, referencing his recent boxing match with Mike Tyson.
Armstrong took that remark seriously. "You name the time and place, punk. Me and my ball will be there." That’s where the exchange ended. For now...

On his podcast THEMOVE, former American cyclist Lance Armstrong addressed his spat with Jake Paul. "I’ve gotten so many questions about this little b*tch, Jake Paul. The truth is, I actually kind of like Jake. I respect what he’s built. But I meant what I said: he’s begging for an ass whooping."
Whether Armstrong will deliver that beating remains uncertain. "Is it real? I don’t know, but I hope it is. Let’s be clear, though: I want everyone to know this would be a bike race because I’m not stepping into the ring with that guy," Armstrong joked, referring to a Jake Paul fight he had attended.
