Saturday will see the end of the first part of the great Italian cycling season with Milan-Sanremo, but on Wednesday, another event that has been held in Turin in recent years will be held. That is where Milan-Torino has its finish, and in 2025, they will once again opt for a familiar recipe: a finish on the iconic Superga! IDLProCycling.com gives you a detailed preview.

The list of Milan-Turin winners is somewhat surprising. While it features climbers such as Primoz Roglic, Michael Woods, Thibau Pinot, and Rigoberto Urán, it also includes men like Arnaud Démare, Mark Cavendish, and Arvid de Kleijn. Last season, a classic-style rider like Alberto Bettiol won.

This is because, in Italy, the organizers sometimes want to choose a different course, which will also be the case in 2025 with the return of the Superga. This will keep the fast men out of the race, but the punchers and climbers will return. It is the first time this Milan-Turin variant will be held in March.

Course, weather and times Milan-Torino 2025

The Milan-Turin course has been transformed into a route centered around the Superga. This makes the race a bit clearer because, in the end, it will come down to a battle between the better climbers on the slopes of the hill near Turin.

The first 150 flat kilometers from Rho will be all about saving energy for the favorites. There is plenty of opportunity to do so in the Po Valley, on the roads towards Turin.

The final will begin with 25 kilometers to go, as the Superga will be in sight for the first time. This 4.9-kilometer climb at 9.1 percent is first tackled from a different side, after which the riders must complete a technical descent towards Rivodora. Then, they push to the basilica, where we will finally meet the winner.

Climbs
159.4 km: Superga (4.9 km a 9.1%)
174.0 km: Superga (4.9 km a 9.1%)

Weather
Tirreno-Adriatico riders are rewarded for their perseverance as they pass between the two major cities. The sun is shining just below the Italian Alps, with a pleasant 12 degrees Celsius temperature. There is hardly any wind.

Names will be added as soon as the RCS (finally) releases a list.

Within 24 hours of the start of the race, we finally received some names. Based on his palmares, Richard Carapaz of EF Education-EasyPost is the biggest name on the starting list. The Ecuadorian has started the 2025 season with grand ambitions, but so far, he has not been able to live up to them. Will he hit the mark in Milan-Turin?

UAE-Emirates will be sending Adam Yates and Isaac del Toro. The Mexican was even stronger than his British teammate in Tirreno-Adriatico. Igor Arrieta will also be participating on behalf of the Emirates team.

XDS-Astana continues its hunt for points with Harold Tejada, among the top ten in Paris-Nice, Lorenzo Fortunato, and Diego Ulissi. Defending champion Alberto Bettiol is also present, but the final is probably too tough for him. Movistar also counts on a combination of South Americans and Italians, with Einer Rubio and Davide Formolo. Michel Hessmann will also make his debut.

Visma | Lease a Bike (Jorgen Nordhagen, Ben Tulett, and Tijmen Graat) and Picnic PostNL (Kevin Vermaerke) will also participate. Jordan Jegat, Steff Cras, Pierre Latour (TotalEnergies), and Urko Berrade (Equipo Kern Pharma) join them as outsiders.
