Quite a scare: Patrick Lefevere (70) admitted to intensive care after becoming unwell during dinner

Patrick Lefevere was rushed to the hospital on Wednesday evening. The 70-year-old Belgian became unwell during a meal in a restaurant and was subsequently taken to the hospital while conscious, DH Net reported on Thursday morning.

Lefevere, former team leader and manager of Soudal-Quick Step, was transferred to the hospital in Ghent. He spent the night in intensive care after suddenly becoming unwell due to a drop in blood pressure. The Belgian remained conscious but was transported to the hospital. He will undergo further examination on Thursday.

Soudal-Quick Step also responded to the news via X. "After feeling unwell yesterday evening, Patrick Lefevere was taken to hospital in Gent, where he spent the night under medical examination. This morning, Patrick is feeling well and the team wishes him a speedy recovery and hopes to welcome him soon at one of the races. We kindly ask that you respect Patrick's privacy at this time."
